Rimmel, Collection, Maybelline, Batiste & L’Oreal Beauty Haul

Hey Sweeties,

So someone has been a bit spendy lately and I wish I could say it was just on beauty bits.. (cough, fashion haul coming soon, cough!), so I thought I would show you my latest purchases; some of which are repurchases as well as some completely new ones.

Boots beauty haul

L-R: L’Oreal True Match foundation in C2, Rose Vanilla; Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in shade 2, cool medium; Rimmel Lasting Finish primer; Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick, shade 45; Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara; Baptiste dry shampoo in Oriental; and finally (right at the top) Revlon highlighting palette in 020, Rose Glow.

Millie McIntosh is entirely to blame for this as her adverts for several looks created with Revlon products are all over YouTube right now, and while I usually skip the ads at the first opportunity, I hung around and watched the one I think she does for how to ‘rock the wedding look’ (or something to that degree) where this highlighting palette featured. Well safe to say, I am hooked! I love this highlighting palette and it is PERFECT for summer as the combination of the pink tones with a touch of shimmer is beautiful. Revlon is actually one of the drug store brands I own the least of but this palette is well worth a purchase.

Rimmel Lasting finish Primer & maybelline lash sensational mascara

Primer, as I have mentioned before, is something I have just learnt to incorporate into my daily routine and I have tried a fair few now, most recently the Maybelline Baby Skin which I have enjoyed but I have been very keen to try this one from Rimmel for ages, mainly for its creamy formula. Although I can’t get too technical like some beauty and skincare buffs can, I will do a post of this primer separately soon to share my thoughts.

If you saw my ‘2015 Favourites… So Far’ post (here), you’ll have seen that this year I have been loving Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara but I have made no secret that it wouldn’t be something I would be repurchasing on the basis of the price. However, while I have known for a while that the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara has been pipped as the ultimate dupe and I would no doubt be trying it for myself in the near future, that time has now come. Unfortunately my Benefit mascara wand just randomly snapped in two -has anyone experienced that? However, not so unfortunately, the rumours about Lash Sensational are totally true…it’s AMAZING!

Rimmel London lasting finish by Kate lipstick, 45Rimmel london lasting finish by kate, 45Rimmel london lasting finish by kate, 45As well as for blusher (see my collection here), my other total weakness is lipstick which quite frankly is mad and probably the one area where I acquire/collect/hoard too many of very similar tones (which you will see very soon in a post). I also am trying to not buy too many drug store ones in favour of purchasing more higher end lipsticks like Mac etc. but as you can clearly see, I failed… again! It’s also mad because here I have purely bought into hype rather than through complete desire but never mind. However, this is actually a lovely nude lipstick and I went for the darkest shade which (very poorly demonstrated above), is very much a my-lips-but-better shade and one I will get a lot of wear out of.

Have you guys tried any of the above? Thoughts?

Until next time x

I was really keen to see what you thought of the mascara. I’ve nearly always bought super cheap ones, so this was really splashing out for me and I love it. I’m glad you do too. It’s brill and lasts for ages. Mine had got to be a couple of months old now. x

Yes I have been keen to try this mascara for ages and I love it. I actually find it achieves a slightly thicker lash than Benefit’s Roller Lash, so I’ll definitely be sticking with this one for a while 🙂
