Blush + Blow – London’s Newest Blow Dry & Beauty Bar

Hey Sweeties,

Last week I was delighted to be invited to the launch of a new blow dry bar –Blush & Blow– in Fulham, London and I am excited to tell you all about it today.

So last Wednesday after work I made my way across the city to Fulham, specifically Parsons Green to check out the new Blush + Blow beauty bar. Despite the heavy thundery showers London had witnessed a couple of hours before, the sun was back out and a lovely summers evening had settled.

Situated literally five minutes’ walk from the Parsons Green underground station, Blush & Blow is well positioned and very easy to find. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted and welcomed inside where I was handed a glass of (very delicious) champagne and given a quick tour. I generally hate the term ‘goals’ which currently seems to be having a moment, but the interior of Blush & Blow really was #goals. Down the right hand side of the front area is the blow dry bar – big mirrors, comfy seats and a long work station. On the left upon entering is a waiting area; the till/reception and then a manicure station where you can have both a blow dry AND a manicure at the same time for those with less time to spare. The middle part of the complex is dedicated to manicures; a children’s play area which folds away when not in use (more on this in a moment); and then you’re in the back of the bar which has quite honestly, the most gorgeous pedicure set up I have ever seen. There are also basins opposite for hair washing which also make excellent ice buckets for champagne when not in use –see photo!

As I was explained to, Blush & Blow, founded by makeup artist, beauty journalist and entrepreneur, Bridget O’Keefe, fuses luxury and expertly delivered affordable treatments under one roof. They also want to attract a dedicated yummy-mummy clientèle and I think this is perfect for them, based on the location and the vibe of the area. The thing I was the most impressed with though was what I touched upon earlier, about the on-site play area-crèche (Blush & Blow Bambino) that folds away when not in use, how brilliant is that?! I know that often in hair and beauty salons parents aren’t short of people willing to coo at their babies, but how many can they really hand over the reins to and relax for 30 minutes? Few. I really did think this demonstrated some proper innovative thinking and this is certainly something that should be shouted and promoted from the roof tops!

Overall, I had a lovely evening. I was a bit nervous at first once I was left on my own to mingle as I wasn’t wholly confident that I would have much in common with those also enjoying the launch (and the whole, social anxiety thing), but I soon found a couple of other fellow bloggers –Akua, and the lovely, Sandra, who were both equally a bit nervous at finding someone to talk to, and we had a blast. Did I already mention that the champagne was delicious?

Some lovely goodies I got to take away

So Sweeties, can you believe that I have NEVER had a blow dry? I know, criminal right? Well it’s true. However, despite not being a yummy mummy… or not yet anyway, I still really want to go back to Blush & Blow and try one of their famous blow dries. Within my bag of goodies that I was fortunate to take away with me after the event, I was lucky to receive a voucher for a blow dry so I promise you I’ll be making use of this in the coming weeks.

Have you guys ever had a blow dry? What do you look for in a hair and/or beauty bar?

Until next time x
