Browns Windsor Brasserie & Bar, VIP Relaunch Party

Last week, I was excited to be invited to the relaunch party for Browns Brasserie & Bar in Windsor* for an evening of champagne, canapés and cocktails ahead of the festive season.

“The brasserie, which overlooks the Thames and Windsor Castle, now has a brighter, modern look, with the grand piano still the centre of attention. With a new menu; scrumptious afternoon tea; and carefully crafted cocktails, the brasserie is now the perfect space to relax in style. This all follows significant investment in Browns Windsor, which now has capacity for over 350 guests in the restaurant, bar and outside terrace.”

Running from the car in the pouring rain, my husband and I were warmly greeted with glasses of champagne as we arrived at Browns Windsor, and we headed straight to the bar area to dry off and make use of our drinks vouchers.

There were four new cocktails on offer for guests to try – You Rang M’Lord (Tanqueray Rangpur, lychee liqueur, fresh lemon and elderflower cordial); Bonfire Mule (Haig Clubman, smoked syrup, Angostura bitters, ginger beer); British Cosmopolitan (Tanqueray original, elderflower cordial, lemon juice, apple juice); and Talisker Toffee Apple (Talisker 10, apple juice, caramel syrup, angostura bitters).

As I was driving that evening, I ordered the British Cosmopolitan before having soft drinks for the rest of the evening, but Ian made full use of his drinks vouchers so I was able to take small sips of the other cocktails that he ordered to try them.

Although I really liked the Cosmopolitan (which was yellow instead of the traditional pink/red some may be more used to), we both loved the Bonfire Mule. We also both felt the Talisker 10 whiskey was too strong so if you find yourselves ordering the Talisker Toffee Apple cocktail and the barman/woman asks if you would like it to be more whiskey or apple, we recommend you ask for the latter… but that’s totally down to personal preference.

As we stood at the bar trying out the cocktails and absorbing the atmosphere, waiters came round offering small tasters from the new menu which were delicious… and this is where my 90% plant-based lifestyle comes in handy so that 10% makes allowances to still have non vegan food (aka. Sweet treats).

Ian and I had never been to a Browns Brasserie before, but we are definitely keen to come back for a meal and drinks in the near future for a fun date night. The new interior of Browns Windsor is gorgeous, very warm and inviting and it really got me in an early festive mood, particularly as there was a large Christmas tree covered in lights and decorations.

A big thank you to Browns Windsor for such a fun evening.
