Perfect Chilled Saturday | Bottomless Brunch at The Botanist Marlow

Hey Sweeties,

At the beginning of the month, I was invited* to try the new bottomless brunch at The Botanist in Marlow. I had recently visited and tried out the dinner and cocktail menu at the new Reading location, so I was excited at being able to get the opportunity to return to The Botanist. I also had never before visited Marlow.

Bottomless Brunch at The Botanist Marlow

Located on West Street in Marlow, The Botanist is set amongst gorgeous old English buildings containing a mixture of restaurants, coffee shops, thrift stores, and high street fashion retailers as well as more boutique offerings; I fell in love with Marlow straight away. The Botanist has a lovely large front that on our arrival was wide open so customers could sit in the open window and people watch as they enjoyed a beverage or two. My friend and I were greeted warmly on arrival and lead to the back of the restaurant to our table.

Slow and Steady Wins YOUR Race | 5K Giff Gaff Money Fit Challenge

Hey Sweeties,

I recently took part in a fun 5K organised by Giff Gaff Money that took place at Shoreditch Park in south east London. The 5K consisted of completing four laps of the park, which also had a bouncy castle type obstacle to get through located shortly after the start/finish line. Following the run, eight people at random were selected to take part in another challenge (of riding a rodeo pig), of which the three with the best time would win £1000, £500 and £250 for their chosen charity respectively.

Hungry for Pizza? Here are Five Things you should try at Franco Manca

Hey Sweeties,

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to spend the evening at Franco Manca in Reading – a chain of restaurants that specialise in sourdough pizza. The team at Franco Manca hosted a special evening to let local media, bloggers etc. sample some of the menu and hand selected organic and natural wines, no logo beer and cider, and other drinks. To be honest I had never heard of Franca Manco until attending this event, so I was full of intrigue before my arrival. Now I have experienced them for myself however, I thought it only right that I share five things you need to check out for yourself if you get the chance to visit Franco Manca.

A Little Auto Love ‘N Care – Some Easy Car Maintenance Checks

Hey Sweeties,

Sometimes accidents, breaking down and bigger than desired garage bills are just all part of driving and car ownership, but there are some easy steps that can be taken to help prevent issues.

Fife Autocentre* has created a new campaign called “A little Auto love ‘n care” to encourage the sharing of some basic car maintenance tips to avoid car breakdowns and troubles, but also to just ensure your car is always properly maintained. So easy it is to jump in the car and get on the road somewhere, without thinking ahead about a few things first.

A Little Auto Love ‘N Care

If you are in tune with your car, you can identify quickly when something does not sound, feel or look right, but do not let the garage identify other basic things you could have done yourself with these routine checks –

1. Tyres

From the day I got my driving licence, my Dad has drilled into me the importance of checking my tyres. Tyre pressure should be checked monthly (unless you drive hundreds of miles a week, then definitely check more regularly), which you can do at your nearest petrol station. Your car manual should tell you the right pressure your tyres should be. Additionally, you need to check the tred –this can be trickier but if your tyre looks like it is beginning to get worn, your local garage will be able to advise if they need replacing. Just remember that in an accident, even if it was the other person’s fault, if the police find fault with your tyres the situation could be turned around on you instead!

The Colour Yellow and Five Other Things I Love about Summer

Hey Sweeties,

Out of all the times in the year, summer is my favourite. Spring gets me excited that things are coming to life again after a long winter of hibernation, but summer for me is where it is at. Autumn is of course beautiful for it’s rich earthy colours, but for me it’s a sign things are beginning to shut down and I can’t understand why people wish away this vibrant time of year for colder, darker and often wetter, seasons instead. Summer is about living, not shutting yourself away and when those pops of yellow start appearing around us in the countryside, across rapeseed fields and in our wardrobes, it makes me so excited for the months ahead.
