How to Achieve a Summer Glow

Hey Sweeties,

One of the key things we look forward to when the summer begins to kick in, is that summer glow. The cold winter months and shorter days means we can’t get outdoors, so our body, skin and mind feels sapped of enough daylight and energy; this is why we love heavier food and cosy nights in during this time.

As you guys know, I love keeping active and the summer months of longer days and warmer weather provide the perfect opportunity to get yourself outdoors in the fresh air catching up with friends, playing sport or even just going for regular evening walks to stretch your legs after a day in the office. By taking some exercise, you’ll increase blood flow and the fresh air will plump your skin and body with oxygen that will do wonders for how you feel and look.

Diet is also crucial; drinking plenty of water and eating some fresh fruit and vegetables. I have discovered some great recipes on ALOHA’s Healthy Recipes website -a brand that really champions a healthy lifestyle so I thoroughly encourage you take a look at their site. You’ll remember that not long ago I bought (and reviewed) the recipe books from Ella Woodward, Madeline Shaw and Davina McCall (here) and the ALOHA website is very much in keeping with the healthy eating these women promote.

Also, if you look along the hedgerows you’ll now see the blackberry bushes really coming into fruition –guys, free fruit so get picking! Blackberries are great in smoothies, on top of porridge &/or natural yoghurt with some honey, or on their own as a healthy snack.

To enhance my summer glow, these are the beauty products that I love to use –bronzer seriously becomes your best friend! I reviewed Too Faced’s Leopard Pink Blushing Bronzer a while back (here) and it is such a good product for summer, and my new favourite is the Revlon highlighting palette; both of these products really add that summer colour to your face.
