I was recently contacted by the team at HelloSkin (a site providing nonprescription products, nutritional supplements, and accessories serving the need of people with psoriasis, eczema, Acne and dry skin conditions), to see if I would like to try out one of the products available on their website. Of course, I said yes so here it is –
KIMOVI Cream for Dry, Sensitive and Irritated Skin
“KIMOVI Cream is a mild and soothing treatment designed to ease the symptoms of dry and sensitive skin, free of the fragrances, colorants, and parabens.
KIMOVI Cream contains two ingredients from Africa in particular that are well associated with restoring skin: Shea Butter and Kigelia Africana. The latter is derived from a tropical African fruit tree and is well-known for its skin restoring qualities. Shea Butter is an ivory-coloured fat from the nut of the Shea tree, often used in high-quality cosmetics because of its benefits as a moisturiser.
Combining these two effective ingredients, this cream can help to provide lasting healing and relief to people suffering from minor skin irritations.” –HelloSkin
The plastic tube packaging is ideal for product distribution, but I have to be honest that although the labeling is clear, it wouldn’t catch my attention on a shop shelf… or even online. For me, it looks a bit basic and dare I say, a little cheap? (the product retails at £34.99). That being said, I have tried many a product with fancy packaging and the product itself is a nightmare to access so in this case, it doesn’t actually bother me that much.
Application and Thoughts
Before receiving the product, I had not heard of KIMOVI cream before but I am pleased this is now on my radar. The instructions outline that the cream can be applied to the face and body, and so far I have only really used the product on my face. Fortunately, I don’t regularly suffer from sensitive and irritated skin but my facial skin type is a combination of dry and oily, so I do try to seek out products that hydrate.
To the touch, the KIMOVI cream feels very luxurious which will be down to those two key ingredients mentioned earlier, the Shea butter and Kigelia Africana. Following application, the KIMOVI cream absorbs quickly leaving my face soothed and plump with hydration, and I have found that I can apply makeup soon after without worrying my foundation etc. will slip off.
All in all, I really like this product and have no doubt that I will continue to use it going forward as part of my daily skincare routine. If you are a sufferer of sensitive, irritated and/or dry skin then I think you’ll find this product really soothing on your face and body, and I would encourage you to give it a go if you’re struggling to find skincare that meets your needs.
The KIMOVI cream (150ml) can be purchased here.
Until next time x
