Marks & Spencer beauty advent calendar 2016: What’s inside?

Blogmas day 23. For today’s post I thought I would review the Marks & Spencer beauty advent calendar that I treated myself to when it went on sale towards the end of November.

I don’t know about you, but this year it really does seem we’re all (and I do literally mean everybody) a bit obsessed by advent calendars, even my husband picked up on it just based on his Facebook feed. I also thought I was going to have to settle for a simple chocolate one this year as I just wasn’t on it enough to get any of the beauty advent calendars that seemed to sell out in the blink of an eye.

I also try to resist things that the hype outweighs the thing itself. I mean, beauty advent calendars are a wonderful thing to have, but not getting one won’t ruin Christmas.

However, that all being said, when I learnt that I hadn’t missed out on getting the Marks & Spencer beauty advent calendar 2016, I did feel it was worth it based on its cost (£35 when purchased with £35 worth of M&S shopping) and the value of the gifts inside (£250).

Advent calendar design

As beauty advent calendars go, I really love the overall design of the Marks & Spencer beauty advent calendar 2016; I love its Christmas tree shape and how the boxes containing one gift for each day, stack inside it. It’s very visually appealing.

Advent calendar beauty and skincare contents

I still have a couple of days to open (I also love that you even get a door on day 25), but so far the selection of sample sized beauty and skincare products I have received have been brilliant.

The mixture of brands included –Nuxe, Rodial, Emma Hardy, Pixie, Skyn, Ren, Rosie at Autograph, Rituals and Neals Yard to name just a few- many of which I haven’t tried before, are excellent and really high quality. I like to save presents and things for a bit before I try them so I’m looking forward to giving these all a go after Christmas.

Did any of you have the Marks & Spencer beauty advent calendar 2016? Thoughts?

Until tomorrow x
