In this post I am reviewing the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer.
The first primer I ever used was Mac’s Prep & Prime which I used for a year or two before wearing primer sort of slipped out of my routine, but in recent years, it has made a firm comeback. However, I have struggled to find one I feel I can just stick with that meets my needs on formula and price point… until now!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer
Before trying out the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer, I was using Maybelline’s Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser which I probably would have continued with to be honest, because even though I don’t love it, it does do the job and is very affordable. I have also tried a primer from Smashbox and Benefit’s Porefessional but this exceeds my price limit unfortunately.
Formula really has been key for me here in finding a good primer as although I don’t mind silicon based products, the cream based formula of Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Primer is what put it on my radar and had me eager to try it. I love that it feels like I am just adding an additional layer of moisturiser and to my knowledge, is what I remember enjoying about Mac’s Prep & Prime.
You need the smallest amount to sufficiently apply across your face –I concentrate on my t-zone and sometimes a little bit on my chin. Although it is creamy and I described it like a moisturiser, it does have a slight thickness to it which I assume is what helps it both apply to my skin, and hold anything that goes on top of it (like makeup).
Overall, this product is very affordable, has a great formula and holds my makeup in place all day. What’s not to love?
Until next time x
