Sweet Weekend: What I Got Up To

Eurgh, it’s Sunday night already and the new week beckons! Not that I don’t like the week ahead but the weekend is always so nice and no one likes Monday morning!

So what have we all been up to? As my Isle of Wight trip got cancelled (as you know) yesterday I went into Basingstoke to pick up a couple of books I had reserved online -Get Rich Blogging by Zoe Griffin (it’s the dream, right?!) and Death in Perugia: The Definitive Account of the Killing of Meredith Kercher by John Follain. I was recommended this book by a friend a while back as the case is as much tragic as it is fascinating and the media will only tell you so much whereas I gather this is a really in depth account of the whole case so I have been quite keen to read it.

Kate Moss LipstickWhile out I also thought I would treat myself to a Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick that I have seen several beauty bloggers, (er) blog about, so I thought as I was due that night in London, Brixton to be exact, for a pal’s birthday what better excuse was there to make a purchase! Fortunately, the lipsticks in Boots were on offer and reduced to £3.99 each rather than the usual £5.49 so I bought two -no. 107 (Wine) and no. 110 (Vibrant Coral). So far I have just worn 107 as particularly while it is winter, I like quite dark, warm colours to wear as make-up.

Zara ScarfI also quickly popped into Zara for a mooch and fell in love with a lovely orange and black scarf but figured I really didn’t need another winter scarf but alas, when I got home I realised my mistake and today I went back in to get it! Crazy eh?! It’s beautifully long and quite thick so once its wrapped around it really is very snuggly, well worth a tenner while it is in the sale!

Mmm Chai LatteA new thing I have done today also is try my first Chai Latte! I have heard several people now rave about them so naturally intrigue got the better of me and I gave it a go and my word is it tasty and perfect if you love the flavour of cinnamon, although I will admit that it can be a bit sickly sweet so the trick I think is to not have too much!

This year, particularly since I started in my new job I have been on a mission to find a tea that I like so that I can find a hot drink alternative to coffee or the occasional hot chocolate and so far it’s not going brilliantly.

I just find that no matter how long I let a fruit/green/peppermint tea brew for it just tastes too watery or makes me gag a little with the flavour so even if I finish the cup I’m not attracted to having one again. The closest I have come to perhaps liking something is RedBush tea… it’s not amazing but of all that I have tried I could just about have it again.

I am a regular to coffee shops, I just love sitting in them and people watching and it’s the perfect place to meet people for a catch up! I also write well when I am out for coffee so its an environment I really warm to & can feel quite inspired in. I am glad I have now found an alternative to my loyal cappuccino!

So Sweeties, that is pretty much my weekend summarised for you, wild aren’t I?! Ha!

Anywho, I hope you all did fun things and maybe I’ll read about them if you point me towards your own blogging space 🙂

Bye x
