Swiftcover.com Presents Chris Ramsey’s Comedy Hotspots | #Swiftgigs

Hey Sweeties,

Last Wednesday my husband and I were given the opportunity to attend a (free) comedy gig, sponsored by Swiftcover.com at The Hippodrome in Leicester Square, London. The gig was headlined by Chris Ramsey, with support from Ahir Shah and Steve Hall who comedy fans will know for his work with Russell Howard.

On arrival to The Hippodrome, we were warmly welcomed at the door and advised to go upstairs where we would have cupcakes, sweets and a free drink waiting for us. I have never been to The Hippodrome before which is also a casino and show space, and although we couldn’t be further from Las Vegas, it gave me such a craving to be back there.

Considering this was a free event, everyone in attendance were treated to a really good two hours or so of entertainment. I’ll admit that I do take some time to warm up and while I will find things funny, to make me laugh out loud can be a challenge, so while I really enjoyed Ahir Shah’s and Steve Hall’s support, I didn’t properly let loose until Chris Ramsey came on. You’ll always have an audience member or two that have an hysterical laugh that seems to take nothing to encourage, but for the most part the audience was a nice mix of people who I felt received Steve, Ahir and Chris well. The only slight negative to the evening -if I had to find something- would be Chris Ramsey’s time keeping. He was prompt onto the stage but he was constantly checking his watch to ensure we didn’t overrun beyond the 10pm cut off time -I appreciate it wasn’t his fault though.

Until this evening, I haven’t seen Chris Ramsey before (or not live anyway), and I would be really keen to see him again and performing one of his proper comedy sets; I will keep an eye out in case he tours any time soon!

Who is/are your favourite Comedian(s)?

Until next time x
