A Review of the NYX Lip Lingerie in Shade 02 Embellishment

Hey Sweeties,

When NYX Cosmetics released into Boots stores across the UK last year, I waited an age before I finally tracked down a stand and thus only came across one recently on a trip after Christmas to the Westfield Shopping Mall in White City, London. Since then I have noticed that my local Boots store has finally been fitted with a stand so I will be taking a closer look at that soon.

I have a list of products I would like to try from NYX Cosmetics, but from the stand in White City, I could only really find the lip and face products, so I picked up the NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment, a lip liner, and one of the Soft Matte Lip Creams in shade Cannes, that I will review separately.

Sleek Goodnight Sweetheart Limited Edition i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette

A little while ago, and indeed every now and again, Boots will do a great deal on Sleek products and in this situation it was two for £12, so I rightly took the opportunity to snap up the limited edition Sleek Goodnight Sweetheart eyeshadow palette.

I own several Sleek i-Divine palettes and other products, most recently I reviewed the Matte Me Liquid Lipsticks in Velvet Slipper and Birthday Suit which have quickly become firm favourites and will no doubt make it into my 2016 Favourites post (spoiler!).

Matte Lip Liquid in 022 Paris Peony – New in to The Body Shop

Hey Sweeties,

Following last week’s review of the new Colour Crush Matte Lipstick in shade 429, Osaka Plum, I am excited to talk to you today about the second new lipstick range soon to be hitting The Body Shop -the Matte Lip Liquid.

While I adore The Body Shop for their cruelty free skincare and shower gels, scrubs etc. I haven’t tried much of their makeup so I was excited to give two new products from each range a go; today I am reviewing the shade 022 Paris Peony*.

Dr Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Day and Night Cream Review

Hey Sweeties,

I have been so eager to tell you about these two creams I have recently discovered from Dr Organic, so I am excited for today’s post.

Dr Organic Virgin Coconut Oil day and night cream

A few months ago in a recent shop in Holland & Barrett, I got given a selection of samples of the day and night creams from Dr Organic. Seeing that the formula of the creams included coconut oil, I knew I not only had to give them a try, but expectations were already high for whether I would like them or not… and I wasn’t disappointed so I have since purchased the full sized products.

Following a few months of regularly receiving beauty boxes, I have a small collection of facial oils that I love using, but only do so during my evening routine so that the oil has time to really absorb into my skin and work its magic. I find using facial oils in the morning, unless it’s a weekend and I’m not piling on makeup soon after, not the most beneficial to my skin… or more accurately, the base of my makeup. That being said, now we’re into the autumn and soon winter months, my skin needs all the hydration it can get and so oil based skincare products are now something I can better incorporate.

Both Dr Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Day and Night creams are free from: Parabens, SLS, Synthetic colours, Phthalates, Petrolatum, Glycols, DEA, BHT, Isothiazolinones, mineral oil, and silicones.

The Dr Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Day & Night creams are fabulous, and they don’t break the bank, in fact far from it. The creams are a rich, creamy formula (the night cream being slightly thicker in consistency), and my skin feels instantly better moisturised following application and the coconut oil ingredient is really identifiable. While I fell in love with the night cream first, saving the day cream for weekends, I’ve actually found I can use the day cream during the week because it’s fast absorbing, and I don’t feel it makes my makeup slip off during the day; it just leaves a beautiful hydrated base.

I think users similar to me who like using facial oils, but maybe don’t like the feeling of your skin being overpowered with oil, will absolutely adore these creams from Dr Organic. For me it’s the perfect balance between a good thick moisturising cream, and a good facial oil; the two elements work very harmoniously together creating that perfect combination in one (or two) easy product(s).

Retailing for £8.99 (I picked up the second tub half price in a special deal), the Dr Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Day & Night creams are very affordable, and of a decent high quality which I heartily recommend.

How does your skincare change in autumn and winter months?

Until next time x

How I Clean my Makeup Brushes & Primark Makeup Brush Cleaner Pad Review

Hey Sweeties,

Why is cleaning our makeup brushes such a chore? It’s not a difficult task, it’s just timely. For me also, I do find my brushes often need the full weekend to properly dry out so I have to clean them when I’m not up to much, or can rotate various spares. Not that long ago I showed you all my makeup brush collection (here) and I have a fair amount, probably more than I actually need but I can say the same for my makeup collection overall, ha! However, I have always cleaned my brushes using the same techniques, but recently I came across a makeup brush cleaning pad from Primark which I just had to try!
