My 2016 Beauty & Skincare Favourites | Blogmas Day 22

Hey Sweeties,

I apologise in advance that this will be quite a mammoth post… but I’ve saved this for almost the end of blogmas because it’s a nice way to start wrapping up and reflecting on 2016.  Also, I really tried hard to capture Christmas in the photography –it’s an aspect of my blog I am always looking to improve and develop, and I am so envious of people that can assemble stunning flat lays. I always try to ask myself when taking product shots, “how can I make this photo better” and sometimes I get it, sometimes I don’t. Anyway, I am making this post even longer by rambling so without any further ado, here are my 2016 beauty and skincare favourites.

My Top Five Favourite Things About Blogging

My favourite top 5 things about blogging

Hey Sweeties,

In this final post of this Favourite’s series, I thought I would go back to the very roots of blogging and tell you my top five favourite things about it.

There have been (from what I alone have seen), a huge number of how-to posts recently on how to start a blog, how to take photographs, how to get followers la la la. At the end of the day, if you blog, it’s because you love it and not to get anything out of it so anything that supports you in getting better and improving your content, I’m all for. Anything that supports those doing it for the wrong reasons, I don’t. But it’s because that there’s already a load of those types of posts circling the internet, there is nothing new being or can be, said. View Full Post

Why I Love Elle Magazine

Hey Sweeties,

It’s the penultimate post in this favourite’s series and today I focus on a long time favourite of mine… Elle magazine!

Elle Magazine

I have been a long term, fiercely loyal reader of Elle magazine for years, becoming a subscriber I think in 2007 and have never looked back. Last year (2014) was a fantastic year as -being an Elle Insider- I got four opportunities to get involved with the magazine. The first was to review Benefit’s Push Up Liner (here); an evening with Ruby Tandoh where I finally got to meet Lorraine Candy (here); an opportunity to take part in Estee Lauder’s Modern Muse campaign (here) and finally, again with Benefit, an opportunity to see and try out Roller Lash before general release (here).   View Full Post

Incredible Sunsets & Visiting Mumbai | The India Diaries Days 6-13

Day 6-13

From Ahmedabad, we took the train down to Mumbai and I almost cried when we arrived at our hotel as despite dreading the worst, it was lovely; clean, friendly staff and a great location for accessing the rest of the city.

We stayed down in the south of the city at Chateau Windsor, a hotel just off Marine Drive which lines the edge of the coast and was beautiful; the room even enjoyed its own balcony. Every evening after getting back from the cricket and before we headed out for dinner, we sat on the big wall that boarded Marine Drive and watched the sun set. Believe it or not, it was here Ian and I ate the best pizza of our lives and if you ever find yourselves in Mumbai in the future, you must check out ‘Pizza on the Bay’ on Marine Drive. I wouldn’t usually use this term but it was pukka! (or ‘gorgeous’ as our friend, Paul described it).

Visiting India’s Shithole – Ahmedabad | The India Diaries Days 4 & 5

Day 4 & 5

Of everywhere we visited in India, this was the worst and I do not know what on earth made England have a test here. Without being rude but keeping it short, the place is a s***hole! Having said that, had we arrived here first, I would have assumed this was normal and (probably) not hated every moment we were there, or rather, not as much. Everything there is just stripped down basic and beyond the cricket, there is absolutely nothing to do.  View Full Post
