What’s in my Handbag Summer Essentials | August Blogs

Hey Sweeties,

If you saw my recent haul post earlier this week (here), you’ll have seen that I have purchased a new handbag from Mango, which I am just in love with. I have only done a what’s in my handbag type post once before (here) which was ages ago now, so I figured this would be an excellent opportunity to take a closer look at my new purchase, and some of the essential things I carry around with me, particularly over the summer.  Here goes –

What’s In My Bag? My New Miss Sixty Handbag

What’s in my bag? I’m jumping on board the popular YouTube trend in today’s post, so let’s dive in.

So, what is in my bag?

What's in my bag?

Firstly the bag is by Miss Sixty and is actually a fairly recent purchase found in TK MAXX on a recent trip. I wasn’t looking for a bag and I was in fact on my way out of the store but for some bizarre reason I diverted through the handbags and low and behold… found one I liked.

I couldn’t put it down, I just couldn’t. It’s a great size; small enough for the everyday but large enough to pack for the more busier day or trip somewhere. I also love the design; it’s essentially why I couldn’t put it back as it’s not something I have come across all that often and for £24.99 it was quite literally a bargain.

2014-08-31 15.11.53There shouldn’t be any real surprises in here to be honest but a woman’s handbag can have anything inside and men know better than to A) delve in and B) comment on the bag size and/or contents. We women pack what we feel we need to get us through the day ahead whatever that may be.

From top left to right: work pass, oyster card -I don’t go into London too often but I always have it with me anyway in case I do- lip balm, work mobile (really nothing to boast about, it’s crap!), notebook and Filofax -yes I am old school but I have yet to completely digitalise my life so for now it’s still the good old pen and paper and my week written across two pages. *I forgot to add in my non-work mobile which of course always travels with me and in case you are wondering, it’s the Samsung Galaxy Ace.

Lower left to right: Purse -this again is a fairly recent purchase and I found it in a gift shop in Windsor quite conveniently on the day my beloved one from Linea decided to give up on me. I LOVE bunnies so this was the ideal choice! Then I have a pen –NEVER leave the house without a pen!- a cheeky half eaten Yorkie chocolate bar, pocket sized heart shaped mirror, iPod (nano) -again this must be about ready to die on me- house and car keys, and finally a little bag (from Primark for about £2) containing stuff that would otherwise be running loose around my bag which are:

What's in my bag2

Hand cream (a basic one from Tesco), a bottle of anti bacterial hand gel/sanitiser (especially for when I am commuting in & out of London!), a small pot of lip balm from The Body Shop in the flavour passionberry (which smells amazing!).

A hairband, pack of paracetamol, tissues (excuse the funky pattern), Nivea Pearl & Beauty deodorant, hairbrush (with my name quite usefully already written on it), and finally a small sample size bottle of perfume by absolutely no idea. I just find it so much easier to keep all these things together as for one it keeps my bag a lot tidier, and it also means that if I change bags I can just swap this easily across rather than having to literally remember to take everything out separately and I hate when I miss something, particularly something silly like deodorant.

You’ll also notice that I don’t carry around any make-up. Fortunately I am not someone that needs a touch up during the day, once my make-up is applied in the morning that is pretty much all I need to do unless of course I go out after work which let’s be honest, is incredibly rare and if I do I’ll more than likely come home first.

So there you have it my fellow Sweeties, you have now been enlightened as to the contents of my handbag. What are your handbag essentials?

Until next time x
