The Glamour Summer Edit Beauty Box

Hey Sweeties,

As I mentioned in last week’s Tuesday post, I have treated myself to the Latest in Beauty Glamour Summer Edit beauty Box. Until recently (winning) a subscription to Look Fantastic, it’s been a while since purchasing a beauty box although I get emailed about them all the time! Sometimes I find that while it’s good to be exploring new brands and products, unless they really are outstanding they just fall to the back of my makeup drawer(s) and clutter unnecessarily. However, from time to time there will be a box that is just too good to miss and this is exactly the case for this box.

Wild About Beauty Eye Shadow Review

Wild About Beauty

Hey Sweeties,

How are we all? So life following the Christmas-New year (2 week) break has resumed its normality…kind of! With this in mind, I will be back to uploading three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), maybe even 4 as I am considering a Friday round up type post but we’ll see how things go!

Anyway, cracking on as it’s Beauty Review Tuesday and I am sure you guys are eager to know my thoughts on this week’s product –right?

You’ll remember early in December I treated myself to the Glamour Party Edit Beauty Box (see that post here) and one of my early favourites from the selection of products that arrived is the Wild About Beauty eyeshadow in 08 Polly.

Wild About Beauty

As you all know I pretty much stick full time to palettes, particularly the Naked palettes from Urban Decay and thus rarely use single pots anymore and to be honest this is unlikely to change. However, I really do love this eyeshadow and for that I am more than willing to make an exception.

First off, the packaging of the product is really pretty -it’s small and compact and I love the little mirror in the lid. It is of course too small to use but it’s the attention to detail I like and I think little mirrors finish packaging off nicely and allow it to ooze quality when they are included. The only slightly negative thing I would say on the packaging, and this really is being picky, but on the top of the lid there is text which you just cannot see clearly unless you hold the pan up to the light and even then it’s a struggle. Like I said it’s a picky point but why go to that effort to design something that can’t be seen? To finish on a positive though I love the embossing of a bee into the product, again it is that attention to detail that allows a product to stand out from the others.

See what I mean about the lid?

The eyeshadow itself is a goldy-brown colour with a slight shimmer to it which is beautiful and so easy to wear. The consistency of the product is well pigmented and blends well. I have worn it as an all over colour as well as just using it for the outer corners and blending with something lighter. The staying power is also excellent.

Overall, a really worthwhile little product to have that I will no doubt continue to use and enjoy.

Have any of you guys tried this product or something else from Wild About Beauty?

Until next time x

Blogmas Day 8

Hey Sweeties,

Those that read Blogmas Day 3 (recent beauty purchases) will be aware that I treated myself to the Latest in Beauty Glamour Party Beauty Edit box. Delightfully, it arrived (although I need to have strong words with the Postman who seemed to think leaving it in my back garden without letting me know is ok -idiot!).

Glamour Part Beauty Edit box

Some of you may remember that for a few months I subscribed to Love Me Beauty but that came to an end in July following an unfortunate mix up when I moved house and although I can’t fault their customer service from the quick response perspective, I think they could have done more to rectify the situation and be more sympathetic. As it happens, they lost me as a customer which left me feeling a bit sceptical about other beauty box subscriptions. However, when I saw this advertised on Latest in Beauty I couldn’t resist.

Glamour Beauty Box

For £16.99 the box arrived stuffed with products -thirteen in all as well as a year’s iPad subscription to Glamour Magazine- worth £88.85!

The box it all arrived in is for me almost a gift in itself. It’s like when you go to shops with fantastic retail bags where you sometimes want to buy something just for the bag it comes in; this box is exactly like that and makes you feel like something really truly special is inside… Which there is of course!

Box Contents:

  • L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin hairspray -75ml
  • Wild About Beauty Powder Eyeshadow -08 Polly
  • Popband London -2x hair ties
  • Philip Kingsley Shampoo & Conditioner -20ml
  • Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer -Watermelon
  • Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner -Black Amethyst
  • Vichy Puruete Thermale 3-in-1 & Idealia Life Serum
  • Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Eye Gels
  • Lola Nail Polish -Bluebell
  • Xen-Tan Luminous Gold Gel
  • Collection Lengthening Mascara

Although I am familiar with most of the included brands and indeed the products except for maybe one or two of them, I haven’t yet tried any of them before so this really is an exciting collection of new products for me to play with over the next few weeks/months. The only product I won’t be trying is from Xen-Tan but one of my besties will absolutely love me as a consequence of this. I have nothing against the brand or the product, I just simply do not use fake tan so I might as well passs it on to someone who does.

The products I am most excited to try are – the Stila eyeliner, the Lola nail polish, Vichy serum and the Wild About Beauty eyeshadow. I will let you all know what I think once I have given them all a good try.

Have you guys tried any of the above or did any of you also buy the same beauty box -thoughts?

Until tomorrow x
