Happy New Year

Hey Sweeties,

Happy New Year!!

So here we are, the first day of a brand spanking New Year and for the first time in probably ever, I finally feel I am in a position to not need a whole list of things to achieve in the New Year or worried about having not achieved anything (or enough) over the last 12 months. I got myself to a good place in 2015, most notably in my career which was a real drive for me last New Year’s. I feel I can just build on a few things in 2016, rather than feel the need to keep pushing for significant changes and achievements.

Happy New Year

As for resolutions, I think these have had their day. Like I said, this year going forward is about building on various things I began on last year. That being said, the only thing I can think of that I haven’t done enough of in 2015 is read and that applies to both books and magazines (Elle, Marie Claire & Grazia –my three faves). In the latter part of 2015 I just stopped making time for myself away from a screen and this must be rectified, especially as for the early part of this year I am up to my eyeballs in wedding stress and believe me, it’s stressful!

In other areas, I want to keep up my fitness by continuing to attend classes at the gym along with general work outs. I also want to keep up going for walks/hikes at the weekends and maybe explore some new areas. I also desperately want to get back into horse riding which got seriously neglected last year.

Clean(er) living, while it was very much a trend for 2015 (a lot of us seemed to discover a new love for avocados) is something I don’t mind following the trend for as I’ve really embraced it and going into 2016, I hope to not only continue, but improve. You’ll have read my post on becoming vegan (or at least trying to), and today marks the start of Veganuary –a challenge to go 100% vegan for a month (I’ll let you know how I get on of course). But remember, life is about being enjoyed and not with restriction so the occasional treat is important, even if it contains dairy.

Blogging wise, I can feel momentum finally beginning to build. In 2015 I think I have done really well on this front as I’ve maintained a fairly consistent content and publishing schedule; my photography game got upped following the purchase of a proper camera; and I also felt brave enough to take the plunge and self-host my blog which also allowed for a new design. In 2014 I set myself a very ambitious target to reach 500 followers which I haven’t met, but like I said it was very ambitious and also, it’s quality not quantity here. 2016 I would like to see more blogging opportunities with brands become available, I am open to collaborating with other bloggers and I would like to expand more into video content should time and resource allow. But if all that fails, I just need to keep blogging because I love it and if that changes, then I need to re-evaluate.

Do you guys have any ambitions for 2016 or anything really super exciting to look forward too? Also, is there anything you would like me to do more of on here?

Until next time x
