Khaki green trousers: how to style for the workplace

I purchased this pair of khaki green trousers from Banana Republic and I have been desperate to create a style suitable for the workplace for ages.

Khaki green is an easy colour to wear but depending on the style of the item, sometimes I do second guess myself as to whether it is a suitable look for the office.

Fortunately, as workplace fashion goes, workplaces more often than not I find now have adopted a smart casual approach to dress code providing you are presentable.

Black and Stripey in the Workplace

Hey Sweeties,

How gorgeous has the weather been this week, so hot! I hope it continues into the weekend!

The below outfit was worn on Wednesday -the hottest day on record- so knowing it would be so hot (but fortunately our office has air con that sometimes can feel like you’re sat in the arctic), I needed to wear something that was super simple, not layered but loose enough so that I didn’t get too uncomfortable sat at my desk and this stripey dress fitted the bill perfectly!

My legs do not seem to photograph well in these strappy heeled sandals but these were a great addition to the outfit to still keep it all formal enough for the office, while adding in a summery vibe.

Simple Summer Work Style with Stiletto Heels & a Printed Scarf

Weekly workwear highlight

Summer work style done simply.

Another week, another outfit pick. I love this simple summer work style, particularly over these warmer months as it feels light, fresh and professional.

The addition of the stiletto heels help elevate the outfit up a notch but I do also sometimes wear this summer work style with flats and it still looks perfectly okay for the office. I also think the animal print scarf adds that additional level of fun and interest to the overall look.

I love these stiletto heels from Morgan

Jumper: New Look (very old)

Scarf: Accessorise

Trousers: River Island

Shoes: Morgan/Schuh

The trousers from River Island are such a work staple and fit like a great pair of leggings and I love the silhouette they allow me, particularly when paired with heels. Black trousers are every woman’s work wear wardrobe staple and they go with literally everything any day, week, month or season.

I am a big fan of scarves, as mentioned above they can provide a fun element to an outfit; be a point of interest, but also not every woman likes to have her stomach on show (I don’t mean literally of course) and a light scarf is a nice but practical way to add that level of coverage.

With my hair wrapped up in a top knot, this really is my favourite super simple summer work style.

Until next time x

How to Jazz up a Work Outfit with Leopard Print Heels

Weekly workwear highlight

Hey Sweeties,

I know it’s been a while and for that I apologise but all being well, at least for the summer while the day is light enough for longer to get the photography done, Weekly Work wear Highlight is back!

As you know I have recently started a new job and with that a new opportunity to freshen up my look. Next week I have two posts scheduled showing you all  some new clothes I have recently picked up, and also how I might style them for the work place. So with that in mind, this week’s work-wear highlight is an outfit you have probably seen before but demonstrates how I like to interpret ‘business casual’ while injecting some fun elements (hint: leopard print heels!).
