You’ll remember a year or so ago on here I posted about my weekend with The Design Studio, introducing my Godmother, Sally and daughter Lettie’s innovative new company making bespoke faux fur bomber jackets that were quite literally taking the fashion world by storm. During that weekend while in discussion about the jackets, I suggested that a bridal range would be a really exciting extension of the brand and so you can appreciate, that as soon as I got engaged back in August last year, I put into motion a commission for a bridal bomber jacket that I could wear with my dress, at my wedding. TDS had also within this time developed a range of faux fur snoods which I thought could also be incorporated into my wedding for my bridesmaids.
So, firstly I need to just say that April weddings are really quite difficult to plan for in regards to anticipating the weather. Historically the first weekend over the last few years has generally seen warm weather, however, in equal measure April can be a very mixed month with snow and rain not being unlikely. As it happened, this year the weather was just as hoped –a beautiful spring day but as a result, after all the effort taken by Sally to make the garments, it did turn out to be too warm to wear them. This my friends and fellow brides, is just one of those things but you can be sure that had we not made them, it would have been cold and a bit miserable which the weekend before definitely was. However, I am still totally in love with my bridal jacket and bridesmaids snoods and I just couldn’t not show them to you in hope these inspire an idea for your own wedding day or special occasion.
TDS Bridal Bomber Jacket:
Made with a fluffy white faux fur, lined in satin and customised with some lace detailing in the sleeves to incorporate the material of my dress (which I have yet to reveal to you all), this is a beautiful jacket. I wanted something that was highly textured yet comfortable to wear and would complement my dress without taking any attention away from it; the brief was met perfectly.
TDS Bridesmaid Snood:
Rather than just purchasing my three bridesmaids simple pashminas, I wanted something more luxurious for them as well as something that would match and tie in with my own wedding attire. As soon as I saw the TDS snood design on their Instagram, I knew I wanted them for my girls as again they would be warm, comfortable and textured. Essentially the snoods are a band of material designed to snuggly fit around the shoulders, leaving hands and arms free to i.e. hold bouquets. The snoods can of course also be made in your own colour schemes, dependant on the availability of the material required.
What do you guys think? Is a faux fur bomber jacket and/or snood the the sort of thing you would want at your wedding or special occasion?
Once again, I would like to say an enormous thank you to Sally and Lettie for their time, help and support during the process of designing my jacket and snoods for my wedding (& so, so sorry we didn’t wear them!).
Until next time x
