Hey Sweeties,
Lifestyle books have in recent years, firmly postioned themselves on many a coffee table and within hundreds of flatlays that fill some of the best Instagram feeds and blogs around. Here are five of my favourite beauty and lifestyle books –
Lauren Conrad Style
For all fashion lovers and fans of Lauren Conrad, this book is most definitely for you! Lauren Conrad for me is such a style icon and my early fashion scrapbooks (here) were filled with images of her. I also have a Pinterest board dedicated to her fashion choices. Like most lifestyle books, I don’t necessary feel they offer anything new advice wise, but the photography and images included is what makes them so desirable and Lauren Conrad’s books are definitely up there with the best.
The Luxe Life: Everyday Luxuries for Lovers of Beauty, Fashion & Food by Fleur de Force
I purchased The Luxe Life, Fleur de Force’s second lifestyle book for my birthday over the summer (here). Like Lauren Conrad’s Style (above), Fleur’s book containing some truly beautiful photography and the rose gold detailing on the cover is just so dreamy.
That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between by Victoria Beckham
This was my very first lifestyle book and I purchased it during a lunchtime browse in a local charity shop in 2009. Until I ventured to University a few months later, my day job and lifestyle at the time was anything but glamorous. I loved Victoria’s book and used it to inspire some sketching, as well as fashion and style advice. While it’s a little bit dated now I guess, the book is a still a firm staple in my collection.
Be Body Beautifulby Lucy Mecklenburgh
Lucy’s book is definitely one for the health and fitness fanatics rather than those that want a really pretty lifestyle book to flick through, but when I reviewed it a while back (here), I really liked it. Despite peoples mixed perception of Lucy Mecklenburgh from her days in TOWIE, I actually really like her and I admire her as a business woman; I would be keen to give one of her Bootcamps a go.
Pretty Honest: The Straight-Talking Beauty Companion by Sali Hughes
This is a book about beauty, rather than being a beauty book and although it’s 99% text rather than images, I think it still makes an excellent addition to any coffee table and will accompany other lifestyle books perfectly.
